Naum Prifti is a prolific author, translator and a central figure in Albanian cultural life in the United States. He is the author of over a dozen books of short stories and plays, as well as a series of fables for children. Prifti is recognized as one of the most popular short story writers in Albania. Prifti addresses themes of patriotism and the modernization of Albanian society through the medium of humourous stories, many based on familiar folk tales.
