Please join Harriman Visiting Scholar Anna Procyk for a talk entitled, "Independence or Federation: Ukraine and Russia during the Revolution and the Civil War."

Anna Procyk holds a Ph. D. degree and the Russian Institute Certificate from Columbia University. At present she is an Associate Professor at Kingsborough College of the City University of New York. This year she is a Visiting Scholar at the Harriman Institute. The talk will be based on her monograph Russian Nationalism and Ukraine: The Nationality Policy of the Volunteer Army during the Civil War (1995) and on her more recent research on nationalism and the federal idea in Eastern Europe.
