The Student Group of the Program on U.S.-Russia Relations held a private forum with journalist and financial analyst Alexei Bayer.
Bayer has worked with Standard & Poor’s, Business International, and the Economist Intelligence Unit as senior financial markets economist. For the past two decades, he has been running his own economic consulting firm, KAFAN FX Information Services. He writes an award-winning economics column in Research Magazine and a weekly column in Kyiv Post, an English-language newspaper published in Ukraine. He has written regular columns for Vedomosti and Moscow Times. Born in Moscow in 1956, Bayer has lived in the United States since 1975. He graduated from Columbia College and earned an M.A. in International Economics from Johns Hopkins’ SAIS.
