The Undefeated (2000, Ukraine) directed by Oles Yanchuk

This is a story of the legendary and charismatic leader of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army, UPA, Roman Shukhevych alias Taras Chuprynka who led thousands of men and women in their doomed fight against the Stalinist totalitarianism in Western Ukraine. For ten years after the end of WWII, the Soviets were unable to defeat the UPA. In the national iconography of independent Ukraine the UPA and its leader Roman Shukhevych remain the undefeated champions of national liberation and human dignity.
