If you’ve spent any time at the Harriman Institute over the past three decades, chances are, you’ve encountered Barbara Singleton. She processed all of our visiting scholars, our fellowship applications, set out tea and cookies during our brownbag lectures. Barbara’s worked at Columbia for fifty-seven years. For the past twenty-seven, she’s been at the Harriman. She retired in May, but it was difficult for her to let go. Masha Udensiva-Brenner reports about her last couple of days at the Institute.
