2014 Central Eurasian Studies Society Conference

The 15th Annual Conference of the Central Eurasian Studies Society (CESS) will be held from October 24-26, 2014, at the Harriman Institute in New York, New York. The conference, which is a major initiative of the Central Eurasian Studies Society, will be hosted by the Harriman Institute, with the support of other campus partners at Columbia University.
 
Panel and paper topics relating to all aspects of humanities and social science scholarship on Central Eurasia are welcome. The geographic domain of Central Eurasia extends from the Black Sea and Iranian Plateau to Mongolia and Siberia, including the Caucasus, Crimea, Middle Volga, Afghanistan, Tibet, Xinjiang, and Central and Inner Asia. Practitioners and scholars in all humanities and social science disciplines with an interest in Central Eurasia are encouraged to participate.
 
The program will feature over 40 panels. There will also be supplementary events and a keynote speaker. The preliminary schedule of the conference program has been posted.
 
The deadlines have passed for submitting paper and panel proposals.  At this time, individuals who submitted an abstract should have received notice from the Chair of the Conference Committee regarding the status of their submission.
