SYNOPSIS

Almost 25 years after war and genocide shattered Bosnia-Herzegovina, can the country's

youth show the way to reconciliation, peace, and prosperity? "ReGeneration" follows ten "reconciliation ambassadors" (Serb, Croat, and Bosniak) as they come to terms with their past and envision their future. Embarking on a journey to hear the stories of their  elders and peers - war veterans, survivors, politicians, journalists, religious leaders, and community activists - they will try to forge hope out of tragedy. The odds against it are staggering; rampant political corruption, ethno-nationalism, trauma, and youth unemployment make optimism extremely difficult to come by, but the ambassadors are determined to never give up on each other or the country they love. ReGeneration allows the people of Bosnia-Herzegovina to share their voices, their stories, and their witness. In their catharsis, they will try to heal wounds, rebuild bridges, and rediscover their shared humanity.

ZANA MARJANOVIC  (PRODUCER) is an activist and actress that played the main role in Angelina Jolie’s directorial debut, In the Land of Blood and Honey(2011). Marjanovic managed to parlay her amazing talents as an actress towards democratic reform, child development, and support for victims of genocide and women in Bosnia/Herzegovina. In 2014 she was elected into the House of Parliament, where she has championed these issues on a national scale through Bosnia/Herzegovina and the former Yugoslavian region, as well as on a global platform.

EMIR KAPETANOVIC (DIRECTOR) is a director and writer from Sarajevo, BiH. He has created numerous films, theatre pieces, web series, street performances and stand-up comedy shows that have received considerable national, and international, acclaim. Mr. Kapetanovic's work turns art into activism as he highlights problems in BiH and globally with a focus on the common themes of human rights, reconciliation, youth and inclusion.
