Please join Columbia University's Ukrainian Film Club for a viewing of Ukraine's official entry for the 2014 Oscars, The Guide.
An American boy Peter Shamrock travels to Ukraine with his father in the early 1930s only to be thrown into one of the greatest cataclysms of twentieth-century Ukrainian and European history. The film, directed by Oles Sanin and released in 2014, is inspired by real-life events.
The event is co-sponsored by the Ukrainian Studies Program at the Harriman Institute and supported by Pronto Film in Ukraine.
