Emma Wilbur

Emma’s primary research interests are related to gender and gender-based violence, migration, and domestic labor in Central Asia, Turkey, and Russia. She received a PepsiCo Fellowship to conduct original ethnographic research on migration and domestic labor markets in Istanbul, Turkey in the summer of 2021. Prior to Columbia, Emma worked as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Nukus, Uzbekistan. She is an alumna of the Bard-Smolny Study Abroad Program in St. Petersburg, Russia, and a 2019 graduate of Davidson College, where she double majored in Russian Studies and Political Science.
