What are your research interests and/or subject of your thesis?

I’m interested in sociopolitical and cultural attitudes surrounding health and wellness in the former Soviet Union, but particularly in Russia. My research utilizes frameworks of memory politics, medical anthropology, and cultural studies to map healthcare habits in the region. 

What do you enjoy most about the Harriman experience?

The collaborative environment at the Harriman is wonderful. I learn new things about the region merely from listening to peers discuss their ideas and academic findings in class and through Harriman events. My research is significantly enhanced because my cohort includes such incredibly diverse regional expertise and research interests.

What is your favorite experience related to the region?

There are a lot of great Russia podcasts out there, but I usually listen to Naked Pravda or Тоже России. In terms of books, Rasputin by Douglas Smith is one of my favorites.
