Liza Knapp’s academic focuses are 19th-century Russian literature, in particular Tolstoy and Dostoevsky; the novel in Russia and the West; Russian poetry; Tsvetaeva. Her most recent book is Leo Tolstoy: A Very Short Introduction (2019).
