Amra Sabic-El-Rayess (Associate Professor of Practice, Teachers College) was interviewed by NY1 about  “educational displacement,” when a child feels alienated from their primary social space, typically the classroom. The child then looks to replace their authority figures, retreating online to groups that place their individual experience in a supposed larger context, in which white men are victims of the pursuit of diversity and inclusivity.

Sabic-El-Rayess is also quoted in an article by Ibram X. Kendi published in the Atlantic, where she cites the concept of educational displacement as a trigger to radicalization.
