Amra Sabic El-Rayess (Associate Professor of Practice, Teachers College; Director, International Interfaith Research Lab) wrote an opinion piece, “Why Are We Seeing a Repetition of Humanity’s Darkest Hours?” for Newsweek on the 28th anniversary of Srebrenica. She also published a piece about the anniversary, “A Generation After the Bosnian Genocide we Still Haven’t Broken the Hate,” at the Sydney Morning Herald.

Sabic El-Rayess also delivered a speech at the United Nations Headquarters in New York on June 21, 2023 about the rise of cultural violence and her work at Columbia University’s International Interfaith Research Lab, which focuses on cultivating resilience to hate narratives. Her remarks took place at the launch of the Muslim World League initiative, Building Bridges Between East and West.
