Kimberly Marten (Professor of Political Science, Barnard) appeared on NPR’s 1A, KCBC Radio, Democracy Now (on June 26 and on June 29), Forbes Newsroom, Der Spiegel (in German with a paywall), and CBC (Canada) to discuss the Wagner Group’s move to Belarus, the future of the organization, and the implications that Russia’s recent crisis will have for Putin. She was also quoted in the Guardian and the Economist and participated in a Columbia SIPA faculty online panel.
Marten, who has been following the Wagner Group for some time, testified at the U.S. House hearing on “Putin’s Proxies: Examining Russia’s Use of Private Military Companies” on September 15, 2022.
