Mark Pomar (Russian Institute ’76; Ph.D., Slavic Languages ’78; member Harriman National Advisory Council) was interviewed on 60 Minutes about the history of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty and its return to prominence. Pomar served in senior positions at VOA and RFE/RL from 1982 to 1993, during which time the Reagan and Bush administrations made VOA and RFE/RL an important part of their foreign policy. He is the author of Cold War Radio (University of Nebraska Press, 2022).
