November 11, 2021

Our postdoctoral research scholar in Ukrainian Studies, Olena Martynyuk, curated an exhibit at the Zimmerli Art Museum with assistance from Zimmerli Museum curator of Russian and Soviet nonconformist art Julia Tulovsky. The exhibition highlights the artistic manifestations of a tumultuous time in Ukrainian history with the fall of the Soviet Union, the Chernobyl nuclear disaster and economic collapse. There will be a virtual, curator-led tour of the exhibit on Friday, November 12, 2021 at 12 pm, and a virtual roundtable on the impact of perestroika on the Kyiv art scene on November 30, 2021 at 12 pm. Read about Olena Martynyuk in Postdoc Spotlight.
