My region of study is Romania. One of the main factors that motivated me to learn more about the country is the fact that I was born there and most of my family still lives there. I came to the United States when I was a child, but I’ve traveled back there almost every year since. Now, I am interested in studying Romanian voting trends and how they affect political corruption. As this is a very pressing current issue in the region, my goal is to make some level of academic contribution toward the study, whether big or small.
