Jennifer Helinek

Jennifer studies the literature, history, and contemporary politics of East Central Europe, focusing primarily on Czechia, Poland, and Hungary. She also works as the 2023-2024 Program Assistant for Harriman’s East Central European Center.
Jennifer has a BA in Comparative Literature (Spanish) from Williams College. Prior to her master’s, Jennifer completed a Fulbright in Třebíč, Czechia. She then worked as a foreign rights literary agent, specializing in selling translation rights of American and Canadian books into the markets of Central and Eastern Europe. Jennifer’s master’s thesis highlights the Magnesia Litera, one of Czechia’s most prestigious literary prizes, as an example of the intersection of business and culture in the post-communist era.”
