Nazpari Sotoudeh is a second-year MARS-REERS student at Harriman. She holds a bachelor’s degree in History from Smith College. As an undergraduate, Nazpari studied Uzbek in Tajikistan with the American Councils Eurasian Regional Language Program. She has also worked in publishing. While at Harriman, Nazpari worked as an editorial associate for the news site Eurasianet. Her research languages include Russian, Turkish and Persian. Her research interests include political theology, Russian cultural and diplomatic contacts in Eurasia, and interfaith dynamics in the Central Asian republics, particularly Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
