Qisen Song

Qisen Song is a second-year PhD student in the Department of Art History and Archaeology at Columbia University. His research focuses on socialist architectural history and urban visual culture, with an emphasis on Sino-Soviet architectural exchanges and cultural influences. He received his B.A. with highest honors from Vanderbilt University in History of Art and European Studies in 2020. Qisen has previously held internships at Cai Guo-Qiang Studio, the Frist Art Museum, and Christie’s Shanghai. Most recently, he has received the Harriman Institute Summer 2021 Language Fellowship to pursue Russian languange studies at Middlebury College.
