Zuzanna Iwanejko
MARS-REERS
Zuzanna is a second-year MARS-REERS student interested in post-Soviet infrastructure and architecture, particularly in the South Caucasus and Central Asia. Prior to joining the Harriman Institute, Zuzanna worked on developing and supplying personal hygiene devices used in emergency situations, urban slums, and refugee camps. In 2020, she worked on coordinating a pilot study in the Donbas region, where, prior to the full-scale invasion, Russian military operations restricted access to running water for 3 million people. Her thesis focuses on the re-appropriation of Soviet-era sanatoria as settlements for internally displaced peoples from Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
