August 10, 2021

On August 5th, Ronald Meyer (Slavic Languages) took part in a group reading at the KGB Bar. Meyer read from his work-in-progress, a translation of Laboratory, a collection of short fiction by Anna Frajlich (Senior Lecturer, Emerita, Polish). The evening was organized to celebrate the publication of Temporary Shelter, a novel based on the life of Anna Akhmatova by Meyer’s former student Olena Jennings, founder and creator of the Poets of Queens reading series. Other readers included Chandler Klang Smith, who read from her novel-in-progress, and Anton Yakovlev who read from his translations of poetry by Akhmatova and Esenin.
