For the New Yorker Sophie Pinkham tracked down young Ukrainians photographed by Mark Peckmezian and wrote about their experiences since Russia’s invasion (Mar. 16, 2022). She was also interviewed by Lucy Jakub for the New York Review in a piece titled “Perversion of Historical Memory” (Mar. 12, 2022). Pinkham talks both about the Russian invasion of Ukraine and how it is the culmination of 2014 and the annexation of Crimea. The interview concludes with a description of Pinkham’s new book project, a cultural history of the Russian forest.
