Cian Iacovou is a first year student at Harriman’s MARS-REERS program. This past spring, he completed his Bachelor’s program at Columbia College, where he received a degree in Economics-Philosophy, and is glad to return to Columbia for his master’s degree. As an undergraduate, Cian was involved with the Columbia Daily Spectator, the University’s student-run campus newspaper, where he worked as a deputy editor at the Opinion section. At. Harriman, he hopes to deepen his understanding of the effects of media and the written word on Russian citizens and the information vacuums that they inhabit.
