Christopher Harwood (Co-Director, East Central European Center) will moderate a marathon reading of The Good Soldier Švejk to commemorate the novel’s centenary. The event is organized by the Czechoslovak Society of Arts and Sciences (SVU NY) with the support of the Bohemian Benevolent and Literary Association (BBLA) in New York. Actors, translators, scholars, students, and other friends of Czech culture from across the globe will take turns reading. The event will take place on April 29, at 2:00 pm to midnight.
