Christopher Walker (SIPA, Harriman Institute, 2001) is co-editor of the volume Defending Democracy in an Age of Sharp Power (Johns Hopkins University Press, July 2023). The book explores how authoritarian regimes are deploying “sharp power” to undermine democracies from within by weaponizing universities, institutions, media, technology, and entertainment industries.
