About the Exhibit
Each year, Harriman students travel abroad to conduct research, study languages, and experience cultural immersion in East-Central Europe & Eurasia. The photographs in this exhibition reflect the diversity of their experiences, capturing both the excitement of the region’s cities and the pastoral beauty of its landscapes. Each one captures a simple truth: there is no greater teacher than experience.
The countries represented include Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Estonia, Bulgaria, Georgia, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Serbia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan.
Featured photographers include: Elias Allen, Nicholas Dore, Kirill Chmel, Janat Kalmakova, Nickolas Khimerik, Emma Larson, Boyang Liu, Aleksandar Momcilovic, Grace Powers, Estelle Sagmal, Alena Struzh, Maxim Visnovsky.
