The Russo-Ukraine War is into its fourth year with neither side close to achieving its aims on the battlefield. The Trump Administration announced the goal of ending the war within 100 days of inauguration, and diplomatic reengagement with Russia has already begun. What sort of peace agreement is feasible given the maximalist conditions set forth by Vladimir Putin, and the determination of Ukraine to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity? If the U.S. withdraws support from Ukraine, will Europe provide credible security guarantees? What are the implications for the European energy market and for global trade in oil and LNG? If sanctions are lifted, will international oil and gas companies reinvest in Russian upstream oil and gas? Will international service companies and equipment providers enable Russia to resume construction of LNG facilities and repair refineries damaged in the war?

Edward Verona is an experienced senior international manager with in-depth knowledge of oil & gas and mining industries. He was the President and CEO of the US-Russia Business Council. Clear understanding of the opportunities and pitfalls of transitional economies. He has advanced expertise on Russia, Central Asia, and Latin America, and he has extensive experience with U.S. government, international organizations and industry associations.
