Registration REQUIRED by 4pm on October 2, 2025 in order to attend this event.
Please join the Harriman Institute for a reception and soirée celebrating the official release of the 20th issue of Ulbandus, the Slavic Review of Columbia University. The issue approaches the nature of “badness” as a coherent literary phenomenon in a variety of Slavophone literatures, following up on dimensions of philological inquiry broached two years ago during a conference organized at the Harriman Institute. There will be a social cocktail hour with light catering. Additionally, we will be treated to remarks by Prof. Ilya Vinitsky of Princeton University, who will offer us text from the new English edition of his monograph on Count D. I. Khvostov, entitled “The Graphomaniac” (Northwestern University Press, 2025; trans. James H. McGavran III).
