The full-scale invasion of Ukraine has sent thousands of Russians into exile — including many of the country’s independent journalists who are targeted as “undesirable” or “foreign agents.” Meanwhile, a Foreign Ministry sanctions list bans dozens of American journalists and academics from entering the country, while others find it too dangerous to go there. With Russia off limits, how do scholars and journalists continue to study and report on the country?
Please join the Harriman Institute and the Overseas Press Club of America for this discussion of the current challenges for scholars, foreign correspondents, and Russian journalists in exile who study and report on Russia.
