Faculty Publication Grants
Publication Grants are awarded to current Harriman Faculty members to help defray production costs of book manuscripts. Eligible costs include, for example, indexing, permissions, illustrations, translation, publisher subvention, proofreading, editing.

Eligibility
Grants are awarded to current Harriman faculty for book projects that fall within the Institute’s focus and region.
Requirements
Applications should include the following information:
- Publication title
- 250-word description
- Table of contents
- Is the book under contract with a publisher? Projected publication date
- Budget for expenses to be covered
- Grants generally do not exceed $5,000. Funds are paid directly to the contractor/institution providing goods or services, not to the faculty member.

Deadline: April 1
Funds become available July 1, and must be used by June of the following year. Grants cannot be extended for an additional period—a new application must be submitted for the next cycle.
