The 2025 Translating Ukraine Summer Research Institute, which took place in Wrocław, Poland, on July 7 – 18, brought together established and emerging translators, academic publishers, and scholars of translation and literary studies for two weeks filled with classes, guest lectures, workshops and presentations. The Harriman Institute is proud to have sponsored the event since its inception.
According to its mission statement, the TUSR “focuses on training emerging and mid-career translators in the field of literary, nonfiction, and academic translation. In the course of an intensive twelve-day program, invited summer institute faculty and experienced practitioners will lead workshops and professional development sessions aimed at developing key skills in Ukrainian-English translation and building a global network of translators who will work on joint projects in the future.”
