Mark Andryczyk (Associate Research Scholar, Ukrainian Studies Program) was interviewed for the Ukrainian Weekly by Mariia Shuvalova on Ukrainian literature’s perspective on the turbulence of history. According to Andryczyk, there’s a “whole new crop of translators” working in contemporary Ukrainian literature and there’s been a surge of interest in the last decade. Andryczyk’s own large recent contributions to bringing contemporary Ukrainian literature into English include The White Chalk of Days: The Contemporary Ukrainian Literature Series Anthology (Academic Studies Press, 2017) and several of the essays that make up My Final Territory: Selected Essays (University of Toronto Press2018).
