Yuri Shevchuk’s (Lecturer in Ukrainian; Director of the Ukrainian Film Club at Columbia) summer 2019 interview with Ukrainian filmmaker and producer Valentyn Vasyanovych was published in the current issue of KinoKultura. Vasyanovych’s film Atlantis was awarded the title of Best Film in the Horizons section of the 76th Venice International Film Festival (2019). In 2020 the Ukrainian Oscar Committee selected Atlantis to represent Ukraine for the 2021 Academy Awards in the Best foreign language film category.
