ASEEES Announces 2026 Marshall Shulman Book Prize Winners

The Harriman Institute congratulates Nana Osei-Opare (Rice University), winner of the 2026 Marshall Shulman Book Prize for Socialist De-Colony: Black and Soviet Entanglements in Ghana’s Cold War (Cambridge University Press).

Jonathan Haslam (University of Cambridge) received an honorable mention for Hubris: The American Origins of Russia’s War against Ukraine (Belknap Press of Harvard University Press).

The Marshall D. Shulman Book Prize, established in 1987 and sponsored by the Harriman Institute, is awarded annually for an outstanding monograph dealing with the international relations, foreign policy, or foreign-policy decision-making of any of the states of the former Soviet Union or Eastern Europe.
