However, a lot of their actions and rhetoric raise serious questions about their ability – and willingness – to confront much deeper systemic and ideological issues that fuel Russia’s aggression in the region and beyond. Most focus solely on removing Vladimir Putin from power, perpetuating the dangerous myth that his ouster alone will bring meaningful reform. The real issue, however, lies in Russia’s collective imperialist mindset – an obsession with dominance, and Russia’s refusal to reckon with its own history.”
