Mark Mazower Awarded 2021 Pol Roger Duff Cooper Prize
April 21, 2022

Mark Mazower (Ira D. Wallach Professor of World Order Studies; Director of the Institute for Ideas and Imagination) received the Pol Roger Duff Cooper Prize for his bookThe Greek Revolution: 1821 and the Making of Modern Europe. In her speech announcing the winner, Artemis Cooper praised Mazower for “never losing control of the international dimension of this extremely complex story. At the same time, he is on the ground with the terrorized communities of defenceless Greek peasants and farmers, left to face wave after wave of Ottoman invaders.”
