Rev. John Anthony McGuckin was Professor of Byzantine Christian Studies in the Department of Religion at Columbia University and Professor of Early Church History at Union Theological Seminary. His interests include Byzantine Christian culture and he has written books on Church Fathers such as Cyril of Alexandria, Gregory of Nazianzus, and Origen.
