Regina Fox is an MA student at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and a Harriman Institute Fellow. Born in Uzbekistan, she moved to Israel in her late teens, where she studied economics at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Prior to graduate study, Regina spent nearly two decades in journalism and media, rising to Executive News Producer at RTVi and covering the post-Soviet region and the Middle East. Following Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, she collaborated with TV Rain and other independent Russian-language outlets reporting from exile. She later worked in marketing and strategic communications in the technology sector.

Regina returned to academia in 2024 and received her BA summa cum laude from Columbia’s School of General Studies in 2026. Her senior thesis, The Transformation of America’s Image in Early Soviet Cinema, examined the adaptation of Hollywood cinematic language for ideological purposes in early Soviet film. Her current research interests include cross-border information ecosystems in the post-Soviet space and the evolution of propaganda and persuasion, from early Soviet mass media to contemporary AI-driven information systems.
