Kimberly Marten (Professor of Political Science, Barnard College) was interviewed on BBC Radio’s “The Inquiry” about the possible involvement in Ukraine of the Wagner Group, Russia’s supposedly “private” military company. Marten disputes the likelihood that Putin would send this group (as opposed to serving intelligence officers under his direct control) to assassinate Zelenskiy; argues that the Wagner Group is probably not actually a real group any longer;  and points out that claims about them being in Ukraine are part of an information war by both sides.
